Choir Cantata & Communion

Will you be a witness for my Lord?

This cantata takes us to the heart of the Passion Sotry as we view Christ's journey to the cross through the eyes of people who witnessed the final days of His earthly life.

The dictionary defines a witness as one who provides a firsthand account of an event or a person's actions. There were many firsthand witnesses to the life and ministry of Jesus.

  • The view through the lens of faith saw Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah, the fulfillment of prophecies of old, or
  • The view through the lens of skepticism saw Him as a fraud, a charlatan, a common carpenter's son who had grown up in a nearby village.

Like Thomas, whose weakened faith was restored by a touch of the Master's scars, many of us have questioned the claims of Christ. Let this cantata renew your faith and encourage you to be a witness to the power of the resurrected Christ.

"You are My witnesses, and My servants whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe that I am God." Isaiah 43:10

                  Good friday movie

Friday, April 7th 12:00-3:00pm in the Fellowship Hall

Join us on Good Friday for a showing of The Passion of the Christ. There will be time for reflection after the movie. Refreshments will be served.

The Passion of the Christ focuses on the last twelve hours of Jesus of Nazareth's life. The film begins in the Garden of Olives where Jesus has gone to pray after the Last Supper. Jesus must resist the temptations of Satan. Betrayed by Judas Iscariot, Jesus is then arrested and taken within the city walls of Jerusalem where leaders of the Pharisees confront him with accusations of blasphemy and his trial results in a condemnation to death.

A response would be appreciated to help us prepare for enough seating and refreshments. Click here to RSVP.
